Kick start

There's no denying sneakers have already become, and will continue to be, the biggest shoe trend this year... thankfully! (I've never been much of a heel-lover). I mean, who doesn't love comfort and style rolled into a shoe that'll instantly make you look polished yet chic?

And what I love the most about sneakers this season, is that there are no rules to styling them. I've seen them with gowns (Chanel SS14 Haute Couture), jeans and a t-shirt, dresses (especially love them with shift dresses), tailored pants, fluted skirts, coats... the list goes on...

It doesn't matter whether they're lace-ups, slip-ons, leopard print or monochrome, you need to have a pair (or three) in your wardrobe immediately. I guarantee you'll be wearing them for months to come - I know I definitely will! Sneakers have become my second skin.

Here are some of my favourite sneakers to help kick start 2014!

Gipsy Dharma

Hey guys! Hope you're all having a great start to the week :)

I came across a really cool brand last week from the UK, Gipsy Dharma, who produce unique handmade clothes and leather boots for women. What caught my attention was definitely their range of shoes.. how eccentric are they? Each shoe is individually hand-crafted and fitted with flexible soles. They have quite a bohemian vibe to them and although I'm not a huge wearer of the boho style, I still think some of their designs are subtle and great for everyday wear.. and I also thought some of you lovely readers might be interested in them :)

With natural and versatile colours like khaki, black and all shades of brown, it's easy to match these shoes up with almost any outfit. And from knee-high boots to ankle boots to flip flops, you can find the right shoe for any season as well.

Here are a few of my favourite items from their site:
Black Knee High Boots, Beige Ankle Boots, Leather Flip Flops, Beige Knee High Boots

Happy Australia Day!

Australia Day for me usually involves heading to Bondi beach for the day with friends and family, having a BBQ and soaking up the sun :) I know it sounds pretty ordinary, but it's such a relaxing way to spend your Sunday. I'm also pretty patriotic (if you haven't already noticed by my outfit lol..). Since it's the only day of the year where you can wear as many Australian flags on your body as you want - and not look crazy - I'm all for it!

How do you celebrate Australia Day?  Or your country's national day?

Chanel SS14 Haute Couture

My favourite time of year has arrived: the release of the Chanel Haute Couture collection :)
Absolutely loving the cropped jackets!
And sneakers with a couture outfit? Well, who wouldn't want to look good and feel super comfortable all day? I'm all about the sneaker trend right now, especially since I've never really been one for heels.. and it looks like sneakers are sticking around (yay!) so bring it on!

Thoughts on the collection?

Avant garde

Hey guys! Hope you're all having a great week so far :)

I'm back with an outfit post, shot right underneath the Harbour Bridge! (You may have already read my tweet about it here). I've loved exploring more and more of Sydney these past few weeks, and even though I was born and raised in this gorgeous city, I still have so much more to discover! That's partly why I like taking outfit photos - especially when you get to explore new areas of the city :)

I wore this skirt in another outfit post here, and since I've been trying to wear it more often this summer, I've been experimenting with different ways to style it. A reader in my last post suggested in the comments to pair it with a printed shirt... so here it is! I quite like the look of a feminine skirt paired with an edgy printed top.. and when you add a thick ID choker necklace, it really completes the look :)
(By the way, I have no clue where this shirt is from.. I've had it since I was really, really young and there's no brand name on it.. sorry guys!).

What do you think of this outfit?  How would you style this skirt?

Let's get active!

The start of a new year always calls for some exercise.. I know it's cliché, but it's nice to eat healthy, get active and feel good about yourself as we welcome in 2014. I have to say, I'm pretty proud of the fact that I've managed to go to the gym 6 days a week for the past 4 months, but every since Christmas and New Years, I've slowed down... dramatically!

But I'm ready to start my work-out routine again, and what better way to begin than to go for a jog across the Sydney Harbour Bridge! And what perfect weather! We've definitely been spoilt here in Sydney the past week with 30 degree weather and crystal clear blue skies every day :) No excuses to not get outdoors and start getting active!

Bullet pendant

I'm sure you all know by now that my one weakness when it comes to accessories is jewellery. I own way too many rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces - I just never really feel complete in an outfit if I'm not wearing any!

I love this bullet pendant I recently received from The Travelling Jeweller. It's great quality and has such a cool design. I came across this Sydney-based company a few weeks ago and was immediately drawn to their mix of unique and timeless pieces. And what's even better is that they also offer services like jewellery repairs, custom made jewellery, laser engravings and valuation services. They come to you, in the comfort and convenience of your own home! (within Sydney).

And if you're interested in their items, they also offer free shipping worldwide and a free bullet pendant (what I'm wearing) with every purchase over $49!

Summer essentials

Hey guys! Hope you all had a great weekend :) I spent mine lounging at the beach all day.. just how I like my summer holidays!

I wanted to share a few of my summer essentials today, since we're right in the middle of a super hot and sunny week here in Sydney! For me, it's been all about getting the basics right, and then working in a statement/trendy piece here and there.

I know some of you may be in the middle of winter right now, but hopefully you can still take some inspiration from these outfits and add some extra layers to keep warm (except for the 'beach day' outfit of course.. I don't think that would work..). Enjoy!

What are some of your essentials for this season?

Top: Brave Soul, Shorts: Moto, Shoes: Converse, Bag: Saint Laurent
Watch: Juicy Couture, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Rings: Pixie Market, Bracelet: Tiffany & Co.

I'm not going to lie, tie-dye slightly reminds me of my younger days when I used to experiment with dye and white t-shirts to see what cool effects I could make. But that's not going to stop me from wearing it!

I bought this dress in the local markets when I travelled to Hong Kong and loved the print (and price!) the minute I saw it. I knew it would be perfect for the heat waves in Sydney during summer, and I was right! It's also been great for the beach and perfect for wearing over my bikini.
Light, airy, colourful (and short) - just how I like my summer dresses! ;)

What do you think of the tie-dye print?

The skort

I've noticed that throughout the whole "skort" phase that hit the blogosphere last year, I didn't do an outfit photo featuring it!

It all started with Zara, but now, the skort is sold on hundreds of online clothing stores in multiple colours and fabrics, and it's become synonymous with fashion bloggers. Some of you may be well over this trend, and others may still be wearing it.

I actually only started wearing this skort around November/December of last year, when the hype around it had settled. I never had much of an interest in the skort trend when it blew up in popularity because I thought it looked too predictable, but now that the buzz has gone down, I'll definitely be wearing it more. It's a cute piece for these hot summer days, and would look great with stockings/tights for the winter season as well. I'm looking forward to styling these more often!

Do you love or loathe the skort trend?

If you've done an outfit post featuring it (which I'm sure 99% of fashion bloggers have), then leave me a link below! I'd love to check out how you styled it :)

2013 outfit recap

Hey guys! Hope the start to the new year has been great for you all :)

I've decided to take a trip down memory lane and see what outfits I wore in 2013.
I did an outfit recap post last year, which you can check out here if you'd like (Note: they're all selfies and it can get cringe-worthy haha). It's really weird to look back and see not only how much my style has changed, but also how the quality of photos, background choices and the layout of my blog posts have changed. I feel like my sense of fashion and style is continuously evolving (as well as my blogging skills) and every year I try to be a bit more daring and adventurous with my outfits to keep things interesting. After all, fashion is meant to be fun!

I hope you enjoy this post!

Which outfit(s) were your favourite?

Also, if you've done an outfit recap post, be sure to leave your link in the comments below! I'd love to see it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!!
Time to say goodbye to 2013 and hello to 2014!

I thought I'd share with you my outfit for NYE. There were no signs of any sequins, which is a little different from my usual NYE outfits in the past, but I wanted to keep things simple :)
I started the festivities quite early and went out for lunch with my family, then stayed out all night for more food, drinks and dancing to welcome in the new year!

This year will definitely be a jam-packed year with weddings, many travels abroad (with photo diaries to follow), as well as a busy timetable of uni and work. I'm looking forward to seeing what 2014 will bring and what wonderful memories I'll make :)

I also want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who enjoy reading my blog and find any sort of inspiration from my posts. I appreciate all your comments and support, and I'll definitely be keeping up the blog this year and working hard to make many more interesting and inspirational posts for you guys!
